Gold

The history of gold is the history of human civilization. When the first natural gold grains were discovered thousands of years ago, gold was considered a valuable material. Due to its beautiful color, very stable chemical property, good mechanical properties and the best value-preserving goods, gold jewelry occupies the most important position in all jewelry. Today, the biggest consumer of gold is jewelry making. In 1970, the world for the production of gold jewelry up to 1062 tons, accounting for about 77% of the world's total gold consumption. In 1978,1,400 tons of gold were processed worldwide by industry, and 1,000 tons were used in the jewelry industry. In modern jewelry, gold can be alloyed with different metals to get the desired colors, such as gold, Aqua, pure white, blue, and so on.

Silver

Besides gold, silver is the most widely used metal in jewelry making. There are two reasons for the use of silver in jewelry industry: one is that it is more economical to use silver, the other is that silver has beautiful white color and the strongest metallic luster. For example, using silver as a base for diamonds and other transparent gems can enhance the reflectivity, which makes the jewelry look brighter and more colorful.

Platinum

Platinum is white gold. Is a very precious precious metal, compared with gold, silver, it was used in jewelry manufacturing later. Platinum has been widely used in jewelry making since the 19th century because of its bright white color, excellent ductility, abrasion resistance and acid resistance.

Knowledge of Karat gold

“AU” is the international symbol used to indicate the purity of gold (that is, gold content) . K Gold is an alloy of gold fused with other metals. K gold jewelry is characterized by a small amount of gold, low cost, and can be prepared into a variety of colors, and not easy to deformation and wear. K gold by the amount of gold and sub-24K gold, 22K gold, 18K gold, 9k gold and so on. The most common“18K Gold” in our market, its gold content is 18 × 4.1666 = 75% , jewelry should be marked as“18K” or“750”. The“K” of Karat gold is the word for“Karat”. The complete notation is as follows: Karat gold (K Gold) , which is measured as 24K (100% gold) in pure gold, the gold content of IK is about 4.166% . The“K” for gold comes from a carob tree on the Mediterranean coast. The carob tree has reddish flowers, and the pods are about 15 cm long. The kernels are brown and can be gelled. No matter where the tree grew, the size of the bean kernels are exactly the same, so it was used as a weight measurement in ancient times. Over time, it became a unit of weight used to measure precious, minute objects. This unit was also used in the measurement of diamonds and gold, also known as“Karat”. It was not until 1914 that“Karat” was adopted as the current international standard. We understand the meaning of k gold and calculation methods, then it is not difficult to know how many kinds of k gold, according to international standards, K Gold is divided into 24, that is, IK to 24K. However, as a kind of k gold jewelry is less than these, at present, the world's use of jewelry materials are not less than 8k. In this way, there are actually 17 types of K-gold used as jewelry. Among the 17 kinds of K-gold materials, 18K and 14K are the most widely used, and they are the main jewelry materials in the jewelry industry of various countries. In order to enrich the expressive power of various K-gold, overseas, under the condition of the same content standard, adjust other alloy proportioning coefficient, synthesize different color k-gold. Now there are 450 kinds of gold, the most commonly used are 20 kinds, for example, 14K in 6 kinds: red, red yellow, dark yellow, light yellow, dark yellow, green yellow; 18K also has 5 kinds: red, slant red, yellow, light yellow, dark yellow.
